Can Gainesville drivers rent a car from ShahGo?
Yes. To be clear about the distance: our only pickup point is in Lawrenceville, roughly 30 miles south of Gainesville. The drive commonly takes 40 to 50 minutes via I-85 and I-985, depending on traffic.
That drive is a one-time trip at pickup, plus visits for routine maintenance. Miles are unlimited, so once the car is yours for the week, you can deliver all over Gainesville and Hall County with no mileage cap.
Our fleet is 2011 to 2013 Toyota Corollas, Camrys and Priuses and Honda Civics and Accords, selected for good gas mileage. Rentals begin in January 2027, and we are accepting applications today.
What is delivering in Gainesville like?
Gainesville is the Hall County seat and the main hub for northeast Georgia, so orders commonly come from a broad mix of residents, workers and students.
- Downtown Gainesville around the square has restaurants and local businesses within a short distance of each other.
- Northeast Georgia Medical Center brings shift workers and visitors to the area around the clock.
- Brenau University adds students near downtown during the school year.
- Lake Lanier borders the city, and warm-weather weekends commonly bring visitors to lakeside homes and rentals.
- I-985 runs along the city’s edge and links Gainesville to Oakwood, Flowery Branch and Buford.
What tips help in Gainesville?
When are orders strongest?
Dinner is commonly the busiest time. Spring and summer weekends can add orders near the lake, while weekday lunch is often steady near downtown and the medical center.
How do I handle longer distances?
Gainesville is more spread out than the inner suburbs, so some trips run longer. Check the drop-off distance before you accept, and favor orders that keep you near busy pickup areas.
Any tips for lake-area deliveries?
Homes near Lake Lanier may sit on long private roads or have confusing addresses. Read customer notes carefully and message ahead if the map pin looks unclear.
What about hospital and campus drop-offs?
Large buildings can have many entrances. Confirm the meeting point with the customer and look for marked visitor or delivery areas.

What are the requirements?
You must be 25 or older, with 2+ years on your license, a clean record and an active delivery-app account. Send a 7-year driving record (MVR) with your application. ShahGo cars are for delivering food, groceries and packages only, and that focus is how we keep them dependable, so paid passenger rides through Uber, Lyft or taxi work are not permitted.
